Do I have to pay for your services?
No, FirstOption services are free to all job seekers. We provide a business-to-business service and are compensated by our client partners.
Do you keep a portion of what I make?
No, FirstOption is focused on getting you the best possible pay rate for a given position. We charge our client partners a service fee in addition to your pay rate.
How do I get paid?

FirstOption pays on a weekly basis. For instance, if you start an assignment on Thursday, you will need to turn in your time-card no later than noon the following Monday. You can drop off your time-card in person, fax it over to our office (please call to verify we received your fax), or complete our online time-sheet form. You will receive your first (hard copy) paycheck on the following Friday. After your first paycheck, you will be paid by either Direct Deposit or a Pay Card (your choice) every Friday thereafter, as long as you work on an assignment at one of our client partner companies.

Do you offer health insurance?
Yes, FirstOption offers our valued team members an affordable, ACA compliant healthcare benefits program.
How do I get a job?
We are focused on finding the right fit for each of our associates. Once a FirstOption Staffing Specialist contacts you, the process begins. You will have an in-person interview with our recruiting team to ensure we understand what you are seeking in your next career opportunity.
How often should I contact your office?
Communication is key. We recommend a weekly call to inform our Staffing Specialists that you are still actively seeking work or if anything has changed in your job search. This enables our Staffing Specialists to modify their strategies to fit your job seeking needs.
Do I have to call you when my assignment ends if I want another job?
Yes, we want to make sure that nothing has changed in your job search, so we can get back to helping you find another position. Whenever anything changes in your employment situation or job search, please let us know.
Who do I work for, FirstOption or the company you place me with?
It depends. FirstOption offers several types of opportunities such as temporary, temporary-to-hire and direct hire (meaning that you become a regular employee for a given company immediately). For both temporary and temporary-to-hire assignments, you are employed by FirstOption, and we are delighted to welcome you to our team!
How long must I work for a company through FirstOption before I can get hired on by that company?
Becoming a full-time employee varies by office, client partner and your individual performance. Your FirstOption Staffing Specialist is your best resource and will work with you to find the best fit for your individual situation.
How long do job assignments last?
The length of our assignments is based on the needs of our client partners. During your in-person interview, our Staffing Specialists will discuss which type of employment opportunity is the right fit for you.
Do you have positions available where I work directly for the company you place me with?
Yes, FirstOption offers our client partners the ability to hire our associates full-time. This is considered a direct hire opportunity.
If I don't accept a position you offer me, will you call me again?
Yes, we understand that not every position offered to you is going to meet your needs. However, we will consult with you to set reasonable expectations about the kinds of jobs that are available within the context of your goals and experience.
How can I get to the top of your call list?
Call your Staffing Specialist once a week and let them know if anything has changed in your job search. This may change who they are contacting in regard to your experience.
What happens if I am not happy in a position FirstOption has placed me in?
Call our Staffing Specialists immediately. They want to help. Our focus is always about finding the right fit for you.
What happens if I am injured on my assignment?
If the injury is severe or otherwise urgent, call 911. Otherwise, call our Staffing Specialists immediately. Your health and safety is our #1 priority.
If I am running late to my assignment, who should I notify?
Call our Staffing Specialists before you are scheduled to arrive at work. They will contact our client partner to inform them that you are on your way but are running late.
